Clean up a Word document — tracked changes and consistent formatting
Short answer: upload the .docx, choose Accept all or Reject all under More options, and download a clean Word file and a typeset PDF.
When this helps
- A document has gone through several reviewers and is full of tracked changes.
- Text was pasted from different sources: three fonts, odd sizes, random spacing.
- You need a PDF that looks finished, not a print of a messy draft.
Steps
- Open Restyle a Word document and drop the
.docx. - Under More options choose how to handle tracked changes, and whether to keep the original paper size and heading styles (on by default).
- Convert and download the Word file and the PDF. You also get the content as Markdown with its images, handy if you want an AI assistant to revise the text.
What is kept
Text colors, highlights, font sizes, bold and italic, images, tables (with merged cells) and equations. Comments are not copied into the result; the notes after conversion tell you how many there were.
