Markdown equations that stay editable in Word
Short answer: write equations with $…$ (inline) or $$…$$ (display). md-to-pdf-word converts them into native Word equations you can click and edit, and typesets them in the PDF.
Writing equations
The yield is $r = \frac{I}{V}$.
$$ V = \sum_{t=1}^{n} \frac{CF_t}{(1+r)^t} $$ {#eq:value}
The value follows from [@eq:value].
- Inline math:
$…$or\(…\). - Display math:
$$…$$or\[…\]— matrices, fractions, integrals, sums and Greek letters all work. - Add
{#eq:name}after a display equation to number it;[@eq:name]in the text becomes “Eq. (1)” in English documents or “式(1)” in Chinese ones, linked to the equation.
What you get in Word
- Each equation is a Word equation object, not an image: double-click to edit it.
- Equation numbers stay with their equations, and references to them keep working.
- References update with the document.
Prices are safe
Amounts like “$100 and $200” are recognised as money, not as the start of an equation.
