Short answer: add the md-to-pdf-word MCP server (no token needed), then ask: “Convert report.md in this folder to PDF and Word.”

Ask in plain words

• “Convert 方案.md in this folder to PDF and Word.”
• “Write a one-page meeting summary with a to-do table and export it as Word.”
• “Turn main.tex into a Word document.”
• “List the comments and tracked changes in review.docx, then accept them all.”

The assistant requests an upload link, uploads the document with its images and .bib, converts it and downloads the results next to your file. Large files never pass through the chat.

Why a longer timeout for Codex

Long documents can take a minute. Codex stops tools after 60 seconds by default, so set tool_timeout_sec = 300.

Good to know

• Same limits as the website: 30 conversions per hour, files deleted after 2 hours.
• Each result lists notes such as a missing image, so the assistant can fix and convert again.
